We can use the theory from John Lock and John Benjamin Watson.
John Lock - Children are basically rational creature whose mind are comparable to blank slate. Children are passive recipients of knowledge,information and habits and are highly responsive to rewards and punishment.
John Benjamin Watson - Development change among the reward and punishments of the environment and viewed the child as the passive recipient of these influences.
